Little House podcast acknowledges 'tough week' amid Timothy Busfield arrest
The Little House on the Prairie 50th Anniversary Podcast acknowledged a "tough week" amid the arrest of Timothy Busfield, husband of actress Melissa Gilbert, according to People. On the show’s Thursday, Jan. 15 episode, the host — identified in the report both as Pamela Bob and Melissa Bob — told Dean Butler and Alison Arngrim she felt "comforted and warm" watching Little House during a "tough week in the U.S.
of A." The podcast did not specifically name Gilbert or Busfield. Busfield turned himself in to the Albuquerque Police Department on Jan. 13 after a warrant was issued and was charged that day with two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse; he denied the allegations in a recorded video, saying, "I'm gonna confront these lies.
They're horrible." He was held without bond after a Jan. 14 court appearance, and prosecutors have filed a pretrial detention motion that also references a separate, older allegation from about 25 years ago that did not result in charges; the theater company involved said it has opened an investigation and that Busfield had not been involved with the organization since 2001.
