Lumineth Battletome reshapes how the faction plays
At first glance the latest Lumineth Realm-Lords update looks underwhelming: a new Battletome, a Battleforce box of older models, and a single new miniature. As a Lumineth player I admit I sighed, but the new book quietly brings substantial changes to how the army functions.
The biggest addition is a Battle Trait that has you inscribing a "battle scripture" each turn. At the start of every battle round you choose one of five runes to grant a power to up to two friendly units; the Varinor rune, for example, adds +1 to run and charge rolls.
Each rune’s immediate effect lasts a turn, yet the rune itself remains on the scripture and begins to harmonize with later inscriptions. Pairing Varinor with the Ydriliqi rune, which subtracts 2 from enemy charge rolls, grants an extra +1 to wound rolls in combat.
