Movieweb reports that Macon Blair's reboot of The Toxic Avenger is now streaming on Hulu and jumped to the top of the platform's streaming chart in less than two days after its release. The movie, which many thought would never be released, took almost two years to secure a theatrical release after its premiere and nearly fell off the radar before being distributed by Cineverse.

The limited theatrical run pulled in $3.4 million. The Toxic Avenger stars Peter Dinklage as Winston Gooze and also features Elijah Wood, Kevin Bacon, Julia Davis, Jacob Tremblay, Jonny Coyne and Taylour Paige. The synopsis reads: "When a downtrodden janitor, Winston Gooze, is exposed to a catastrophic toxic accident, he's transformed into a new kind of hero: The Toxic Avenger.

Now, Toxie must rise from outcast to savior, taking on ruthless corporate overlords and corrupt forces who threaten his son, his friends, and his community. In a world where greed runs rampant... justice is best served radioactive." The film premiered at Fantastic Fest in 2023 with near-perfect scores and, on its wider release in September 2025, ended up with an 87% Tomatometer score.
