Manchester United have identified AC Milan forward Rafael Leao as their primary target for the left wing as INEOS chiefs accelerate plans for a major summer overhaul, according to The Daily Mail. Leao is listed on a three-man shortlist alongside Everton's Iliman Ndiaye and Chelsea teenager Tyrique George as United's recruitment team, led by Christopher Vivell, narrows options to strengthen the left side of the attack.

Sources in Italy suggest Milan would be open to selling Leao, who has scored eight goals in 18 games this season. INEOS favour Premier League-proven quality, which brings Everton’s Ndiaye into the frame but could complicate talks given he is under contract until 2029. The third option, 19-year-old Tyrique George, is reportedly available to leave Chelsea and would represent a lower-cost, long-term development prospect.

Meanwhile United’s primary objective remains a marquee midfielder. Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson is reported to be the club’s top priority, but Manchester City are also pursuing him; Anderson is said to want to wait until after the World Cup to decide, and the outcome may depend on who becomes permanent head coach at the interested clubs.

The wider squad restructuring is being used to reduce the wage bill: Casemiro will leave at the end of the season and Joshua Zirkzee could depart in January amid Serie A interest.
