Man Utd preparing £100m bid for Sandro Tonali to replace Casemiro

Manchester United are preparing a summer transfer swoop for Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali. The Italy international is said to carry a £100 million price tag, and the club will be seeking reinforcements as Casemiro departs on a free transfer. Tonali sparked speculation at the end of the winter window, with Arsenal briefly linked after losing Mikel Merino to injury, and exit talk has continued.

Juventus are reported to hold “concrete interest,” but United are willing to offer him an extended stay in English football. Other midfield options under consideration include Elliott Anderson and Adam Wharton, and Manchester City have also had Tonali watched. Newcastle paid £55m for Tonali in 2023 and have him under contract until 2029, so any sale would be expected to command a nine-figure fee similar to recent moves for Declan Rice, Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.
