Manchester United players Manuel Ugarte, Leny Yoro and Senne Lammens were spotted dining with their partners at The Ivy in Manchester after the club's third straight Premier League win under interim manager Michael Carrick, with the trio said to have formed an unlikely friendship despite all being relatively new to the club.

Ugarte has struggled for form this season, making 19 appearances and being used only twice as a substitute by Carrick, who has preferred Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro in midfield. Former United midfielder Nicky Butt criticised the signing on a podcast, saying: "Ugarte is not a Manchester United midfielder in a million years.

Not in a million years he’s a Man United midfielder." The Uruguay international was linked with a move in the January window and Galatasaray were reported to have been considering a late bid before the Turkish window closed on February 6, but it currently looks as though he will remain at United until the end of the season, with his playing time to be determined.
