New Mandalorian and Grogu Trailer: Clone Wars Cameos and Scorsese Voice

Disney and Lucasfilm released the latest trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu, the first new Star Wars movie since Rise of Skywalker hit theaters in 2019. The film stars Pedro Pascal as bounty hunter Din Djarin alongside Grogu and is set after the original trilogy and the Mandalorian TV series. It hits theaters on May 22.

The trailer suggests the movie will tie up plot threads involving remnants of the Empire attempting to destroy the New Republic and may provide more answers about Grogu, a member of Yoda’s species.

Director Martin Scorsese provides a brief voice cameo as a shopkeeper alien who is spooked when asked about a Hutt; Disney confirmed his role with Polygon.

Various weird and goofy aliens and monsters appear, including a Mantellian Savrip as the big city creature — an alien that first showed up as a holochess piece in the original Star Wars film. Clone Wars bounty hunter Embo and Rebels character Zeb also make appearances in the trailer.
