Margot Robbie praises Jacob Elordi's Valentine's surprise on Wuthering Heights set

Margot Robbie said Jacob Elordi surprised her with a Valentine's Day gesture while she was shooting Wuthering Heights, filling her room with roses, a Heathcliff‑style note and a small tombstone prop — a moment she told Vogue Australia made her think he would be "probably a very good boyfriend."

Robbie described the display as thoughtful, "crafty," meaningful and dramatic. She and Elordi recalled the exchange on set, with Elordi noting she hadn’t done anything special for him and saying, "I felt like I beat you," to which Robbie replied, "You definitely beat me. Yours was so epic."

The actors play Catherine and Heathcliff in the forthcoming adaptation of Emily Brontë's 1847 novel. Elordi said part of the surprise involved figuring out when Robbie would be on set — he wasn't scheduled that day and came in on his day off to time it.

Weeks earlier, in an interview with Fandango published Wednesday, Jan. 14, Elordi said there were moments on set when he and Robbie could really feel their characters' love, describing runs across the moors where "you really realized you are looking at Catherine and she was looking at Heathcliffe." He added that it felt like catching pieces of the unrequited love Brontë created.

Wuthering Heights opens in theaters on Feb. 13, in time for Valentine's Day. Robbie has been married to Tom Ackerley since 2016, and the piece noted Elordi recently split from Olivia Jade Gianulli in the fall of 2025.
