Mark and Scott Hoying reveal sex of first baby in musical video — arriving June 2026

Scott Hoying and husband Mark Hoying announced the sex of their first baby in a music video posted to Instagram and TikTok on Thursday, Jan. 29, according to PEOPLE.

The showstopping number uses original lyrics set to "Someone in the Crowd" from La La Land and opens with Mark holding a newspaper that reads, "Baby Hoying! Boy or girl? Arriving June 2026." The couple previously announced they were expecting in Oct. 2025.

The video follows the pair through a morning routine as they sing about what their child might like — with lines such as "What if they're into football?" and Scott replying, "Dear God, don't say such things." At one point they sing, "No matter what they're into, we'll love them just the same," and Mark sings, "Just because a baby is a certain gender doesn't mean they have certain interests."

After opening their front door to a pink light, the duo declare, "Our baby is a girl," and dance through the streets in pink attire surrounded by dancers. The clip also shows them on a pink heart-shaped float as Scott sings, "When our daughter grows up, what if she comes out to us as," and Mark responds, "you don't need to have the answers. Take it day by day."

The video closes with the couple celebrating that they will soon be a family of three; the pair tied the knot in July 2023 at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara in Santa Barbara, Calif., after six years of dating, according to PEOPLE.
