Marrow mod's final chapter joins Nightdive's Blood: Refreshed Supply
Pcgamer reports that Marrow, a celebrated mod for the classic FPS Blood, has released its concluding chapter and was included in Nightdive Studios' second remaster, Blood: Refreshed Supply. Marrow is a new campaign that continues Blood's storyline after protagonist Caleb slays his demonic former master Tchernobog.
The mod confines itself to Blood's original assets—weapons, enemies and so on—while building large, complex new maps. ModDB users praised the release: albatrosslos wrote, "Fantastic mod; played it with the new edition and it felt great. Can't wait to see what the author does next," and thelordoffliess described it as "one of the best I've ever played." The three-year gap between Marrow's two chapters is said to be largely because creator Palsmier worked as a map designer on Chapter 2 of Cultic, which Ted Litchfield called one of last year's best shooters in his December review, writing, "This exercise in demon worshipper annihilation is a meat and potatoes boomer shooter that primarily distinguishes itself by executing everything at a very high level." The article notes that including Marrow Chapter 2 helped sweeten Refreshed Supply for players who already owned a Blood remaster, but some have grumbled about the price and the perception that they are mainly paying for improvements and fixes that ideally should have been in Fresh Supply.
