Martin Scorsese Confirmed in 'The Mandalorian and Grogu' Trailer — Movieweb

The arrival of The Mandalorian and Grogu trailer included an unexpected reveal: Martin Scorsese makes a cameo, marking his Star Wars debut. Fans were quick to point out Scorsese's voice in the trailer, and Polygon confirmed with Disney and Lucasfilm that the filmmaker appears in the film.

It is unclear who his Ardennian character is, and he likely will not play a significant role. Scorsese has been increasing his presence in front of the screen; his guest role in Apple TV's The Studio earned him an Emmy nomination at the 2025 ceremony. The Mandalorian and Grogu opens May 22, 2026.

The film stars Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin / The Mandalorian, Sigourney Weaver as Ward, Steve Blum as Garazeb "Zeb" Orrelios, Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt, and Jonny Coyne as an Imperial Warlord. Jon Favreau directed the film based on a script he co-wrote alongside new Lucasfilm head Dave Filoni.
