Maslany’s Anisha Mir could force Caleb’s loyalties, Sandro Rosta says

Collider reports Sandro Rosta says Tatiana Maslany's character Anisha Mir could create a major loyalty conflict for his character Caleb Mir if they cross paths again.

Maslany plays Anisha Mir, the mother of Rosta's Caleb Mir, who was separated from him by the federation at the hands of Holly Hunter's Captain Ake; finding her is Caleb's sole priority at the series start. Rosta said: "I can’t say too much, but what I will say is the journey that Caleb goes through at Starfleet Academy is a very transformative one for him, so if he were to run into his mother again in the future, there would be a lot of conflicting emotions, in terms of loyalty." After being on the run for the last 15 years, Caleb has begun to put down roots at Starfleet Academy and is developing a mother/son connection with Captain Ake.

The series has been renewed for Season 2, with filming currently underway on the finale, and new episodes are available every Thursday on Paramount+. The cast includes Holly Hunter, Paul Giamatti, Bella Shepard, George Hawkins, Karim Diane, Kerrice Brooks, Zoë Steiner, Robert Picardo, Tig Notaro and Gina Yashere. It remains unclear whether Anisha will reappear this season and whether her return would force Caleb to choose between his biological mother and the crew who may become his family.
