Mbappe set to travel to Jeddah as Real Madrid prepare for Supercopa final
Goal reports Real Madrid have received a boost ahead of the Spanish Super Cup final as manager Xabi Alonso confirmed Kylian Mbappe is flying to Saudi Arabia.
The French forward, who was left out of the semi-final against Atletico Madrid with a knee issue, has trained well and will travel to Jeddah on Friday. Alonso said: "He will travel tomorrow and we will see if he is in condition to play," adding, "He is much better, he has trained and the sensations are good. The options for him to play are the same as everyone else who is available."
Alonso warned Mbappe's return alters the final — "The game will be different" — after Real reached the final with a 2-1 semi victory in which Federico Valverde scored early and earned praise as a "classic Fede goal." Recovery and fitness checks are now the immediate focus as Madrid look ahead to the first El Clasico of 2026 and the chance for early silverware.
