Movieweb reports that pre-sales for Mercy, a sci‑fi action thriller starring Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson, are reportedly performing poorly ahead of its January 23, 2026 theatrical release. Mercy is set in a near future in which an L.A. detective must stand trial for the murder of his wife and has just 90 minutes to prove his innocence to an AI judge.

The 100‑minute film is directed by Timur Bekmambetov, written by Marco van Belle and produced by Charles Roven, Majd Nassif, Timur Bekmambetov and Robert Amidon. The cast includes Pratt and Ferguson alongside Annabelle Wallis, Kali Reis, Chris Sullivan, Kylie Rogers, Jeff Pierre and Rafi Gavron.

The report notes Pratt’s recent hits such as The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, his criticism over The Electric State, and his small‑screen success with The Terminal List and its spin‑off Dark Wolf; critics have yet to review Mercy.
