Meta Quest 3S drops to $270, now cheapest VR option as PS VR2 stays full price
The Meta Quest 3S is now one of the cheapest ways into VR after a sudden price drop: the 128GB model is selling for $270 (down from $300) and the 256GB version has fallen to $350 (down from $400) and is currently bundled with Batman: Arkham Shadow, while the PlayStation VR2 remains at full price.
Current discounts are running around 10% to 15% off retail, making the Quest 3S a budget-friendly option that doesn’t require a gaming PC and gives users access to a growing library of polished VR experiences. Batman: Arkham Shadow, included with the 256GB bundle at no extra cost, places players in the role of Batman hunting a new villain called the Rat King across Gotham City on the Fourth of July.
The game acts as a narrative sequel to Batman: Arkham Origins and leans into VR strengths like combat, investigation and traversal driven by player movement. New Quest 3S owners also receive three months of Meta Quest+, which the piece says includes access to more than 40 VR titles; highlights include Walkabout Mini Golf for relaxed multiplayer and Marvel’s Deadpool VR, a major 2025 release (not included with Quest+) featuring voice work from Neil Patrick Harris.
Technically, the Quest 3S upgrades over the Quest 2 with a Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset, full-color passthrough and an easy-access action button for switching between virtual and mixed reality.
