Mexico confirm friendlies vs Australia, Ghana and Serbia ahead of 2026 World Cup — Goal

Mexico have added three friendlies against Ghana, Australia and Serbia as final tune-ups for the 2026 World Cup. El Tri will open the tournament on June 11 against South Africa at the Estadio Azteca, which will become the first stadium in history to host three men’s World Cups.

The preparation schedule starts on May 22 with Ghana in Mexico, with the venue still to be confirmed. Mexico will then travel to California to face Australia on May 30 before returning home for a June 4 farewell match against Serbia, also at a yet-to-be-announced Mexican venue.

Australia and Ghana have qualified for the 2026 tournament, while Serbia fell short in Europe’s qualifying campaign. These fixtures add to an already busy calendar. Mexico will meet Iceland on Feb. 25 at Estadio La Corregidora in Querétaro, a game to be played exclusively with Liga MX players.
