According to Movieweb, Mia McKenna-Bruce admitted she did not know the names of The Beatles while filming Sam Mendes' The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, which is scheduled for release on April 7, 2028. Mendes cast her as Maureen Starkey; the four films will feature Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr.

McKenna-Bruce told Tatler that she had sung "Eleanor Rigby" and "Yellow Submarine" at school but it "wasn't my jam," and that on The Seven Dials Mystery Martin Freeman asked her to name all the Beatles and she did not know. She said she has since come to appreciate the music, adding, "Oh my God, The Beatles are underrated!
