Michael Owen: Man Utd could win Premier League in 'one or two years'
Michael Owen has predicted Manchester United could reclaim the Premier League within 'one or two years', saying the club can return a top-flight crown to Old Trafford. He pointed to signs of life under interim boss Michael Carrick and the promise of further transfer business.
United's recent instability has been clear. Ruben Amorim was relieved of his duties after overseeing a 15th-place finish in 2024-25, but Carrick has since taken over on an interim basis and overseen four successive victories. Champions League qualification is back on the cards, with United only six points adrift of second place.
Owen warned the squad may still need surgery this summer, noting Casemiro is leaving and Bruno Fernandes's future is uncertain. He said United probably still need one or two players and that losing those key figures would leave holes to fill. Ambitious plans to win another league title by 2028 are already being drawn up.
