Cbssports: Mike Tomlin stepped down as the Pittsburgh Steelers' head coach after 19 seasons, a move that reportedly means he does not plan to coach in 2026 and makes Pittsburgh one of nine current NFL head-coaching vacancies. The openings include the Steelers, Miami (fired Mike McDaniel), Baltimore (fired John Harbaugh), Arizona (fired Jonathan Gannon), Las Vegas (fired Pete Carroll), New York Giants (fired Brian Daboll), Cleveland (fired Kevin Stefanski), Tennessee (fired Brian Callahan) and Atlanta (fired Raheem Morris).

John Harbaugh was fired by the Ravens on Jan. 6 after their season-ending loss to the Steelers; he was 180-113 in 18 seasons, won Super Bowl XLVII in 2013, and ESPN reported the Giants were working to finalize a deal to hire him while the contract is still being negotiated ("There still is a lot to work through," one source told Adam Schefter).

Searches and interviews are underway across the league: the Steelers have requested interviews with Nathan Scheelhaase, Chris Shula, Anthony Weaver, Brian Flores and Jesse Minter, while oddsmakers list defensive-minded candidates such as Chris Shula (+190), Brian Flores (+400) and Robert Saleh (+700) among early favorites.
