Build a Rocket Boy rolled out an unexpected Update 7 for MindsEye this week, presenting it as “another step forward in overall polish, guided by player and community feedback.” The patch itself is largely a list of bug fixes, even as the studio frames it as progress driven by community input.
The studio followed the patch notes with a broader claim that Update 7 serves “as a reset for the brand and the title” and marks the start of a “new era” for MindsEye. IO Interactive’s branding and copyright information are absent from the latest trailer, aligning with a recent leak that Build a Rocket Boy and IO Interactive have split.
It has been a difficult period for the game and its developer. At the end of January it leaked that the split would end plans for a Hitman crossover.
