MITO AI raises $4.5M led by Lightspeed to launch AI video workflow platform
MITO AI said it raised $4.5 million in a pre-seed round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and is launching its product on Thursday after testing with about 200 beta partners, the company exclusively told Business Insider. The startup positions itself as a project-management and workflow platform for generative-AI filmmaking, offering an "infinite canvas" to storyboard, organize, and generate video, image, audio, and voice assets.
The pitch deck highlights an AI director that can execute creative actions in real time and integrations with tools such as Runway, Veo 3, ComfyUI, and Pika to combine short AI clips into longer projects. MITO also operates an in-house studio, MITO Films, that produces AI-generated content for partners and has delivered brand campaigns and music videos.
Slides in the deck include anonymized beta feedback saying the platform gives control over camera, lenses, framing, lighting, and color, and called the built-in video editor "a game-changer." The company argues there is no dominant orchestration layer tying AI video models together and positions itself to capture growing demand for faster, lower-cost video production.
The deck notes MITO is entering a crowded field with incumbents like Adobe and other upstarts such as FLORA, which recently raised $42 million led by Redpoint Ventures, and it flags industry tensions as actors, animators, and others test AI tools.
