Pcgamer: Modder Sadat Sahib posted screenshots on Reddit and a minute-long demo on X showing a working prototype that links Minecraft (Bedrock and Java) and Hytale for crossplay.

In the demo Sahib runs Minecraft and Hytale clients side by side with the same geometry represented in each game's blocks and art style. As he moves in one client the other mirrors those movements, and block placements in Hytale are reflected in the Minecraft session; Sahib wrote that he "made Bedrock <-> Hytale <-> Java cross-play possible!" One redditor replied, "what the fuck."

Sahib says Hytale is serving as the host and that while block placements are translated to equivalent blocks on the Minecraft side, it appears only the prototype's Hytale player can place new blocks. He also cautions that "currently many things are Broken," and that the Minecraft crossplay client is limited to loading its immediate surroundings from the Hytale side.

It is unclear whether Sahib will release the mod publicly; he calls it "more of a proof of concept" and intends to "update it for a good while" to add functionality. In less than a day he uploaded further demos showing functional cross-game chat, animation synchronization, and combat, and says his next priority is solving shared world generation.
