Monarch Season 2: 7 monsters MovieWeb wants to add, from Behemoth to a Kraken
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 is reportedly looming and is teasing mysterious new titans — the series will expand the MonsterVerse history, fill the five-year jump between Godzilla and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and bring in Kong and Skull Island material, MovieWeb says.
The piece notes that while icons like King Ghidorah, Rodan, and Mothra have already been used, Legendary likely reserves top Toho names such as Gigan, Biollante, and Destroyah for future films — leaving room for smaller Toho monsters or original MonsterVerse creations to appear on the small screen.
Among the seven monsters MovieWeb highlights are Behemoth, the mammoth-like titan briefly introduced in Godzilla: King of the Monsters and monitored at Site 58 in Rio de Janeiro; Baragon, a burrowing, horned dinosaur-origin creature that could plausibly emerge from the Hollow Earth; and Anguirus, the spiked, fast irradiated dinosaur that was Godzilla's first onscreen opponent and has a long Showa-era history.
Other suggested foes include a giant snake as a Kong antagonist (an homage to the 1976 King Kong remake and Toho entries like King Kong Escapes), Ebirah the giant lobster (originally conceived as a Kong foe in 1966), and King Caesar, the Okinawan guardian titan that MovieWeb says would be an intriguing guardian-versus-Kong matchup given his rare live-action appearances.
