Earlier this month, Monster Hunter Wilds PC players reported that the game’s hub area ran more smoothly if they had purchased all $500 of DLC. Capcom has confirmed the behaviour was caused by an error in the code and says it has been fixed in the latest patch, Ver. 1.040.03.01.

Capcom’s patch notes for Ver. 1.040.03.01 acknowledge the issue, identify what was causing it, and state the team was alerted to the problem through user reports.

The notes say internal testing confirmed CPU load could increase around the Support Desk at Base Camp or the Grand Hub. Capcom traced the spike to claimed content status check processes used to notify players if there is unclaimed content in the Support Desk.

Capcom describes the behaviour as an unintended bug and says the Ver. 1.040.03.01 update resolves the problem.

The company has pushed the fix in the latest patch; the patch notes state the unintended bug will be resolved with this update.
