Monster Hunter Wilds reaches 50% positive on Steam after performance patch
Monster Hunter Wilds has climbed to 50% positive lifetime Steam reviews after a major PC performance patch, following a year of poor performance and negative user feedback.
With 188,162 reviews logged, shifting the overall score was difficult, yet the latest patch made a meaningful difference. At launch the game sat in Steam’s lowest tier, marked "Overwhelmingly Negative" as performance problems dominated player reaction.
The improvement arrives just after Capcom confirmed a "large scale" expansion for Wilds, described as being on par with Iceborne for Monster Hunter World and Sunbreak for Monster Hunter Rise. The turnaround couldn’t have come at a better time — except, of course, immediately after launch, that would have been better.
Even so, a 50% "Mixed" score is unlikely to be a celebratory milestone, but the patch demonstrates that ongoing fixes can still move the needle for a game with such a large review base.
