Mourinho says only Amorim can analyse his Man United sacking
According to Goal, Jose Mourinho said only Ruben Amorim can truly analyse why he was sacked by Manchester United, as the former United manager reflected on his own exit from the Old Trafford club.
Mourinho told Portuguese media that "what happened with Ruben is something that only Ruben can analyse," adding he believes Amorim and his staff "will do it" but that he did not know "whether he will do it with you and make his view public." He also said he did not understand why Amorim's dismissal would negatively affect other Portuguese coaches and reflected on his own United spell, noting he "knows" the reason he left, that he closes doors when he departs and that the club's history and the trophies — including Europa League glory and a second-place finish — remain.
The report says United relieved Amorim on Monday and are searching for his successor, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said to be under consideration as interim until the end of the season. Solskjaer has previously said he "felt privileged" to manage United but that results matter, describing a "very bad six-week spell" as a key factor in his own departure, the outlet added.
