Murillo labelled Forest's 'best player' amid Man Utd and Chelsea interest
Manchester United and Chelsea have been linked with Brazil international centre-half Murillo, and Nottingham Forest legend Viv Anderson says any club that completes a deal would be getting the Reds' "best player". Talk has even suggested Murillo could become the first £100 million defender, though those figures are not being bandied about at present.
It has been suggested an offer of between £50m and £70m could be enough to prise him away, but Forest are likely to resist. Murillo is contracted until the summer of 2029, so the club are under no immediate pressure unless the 23-year-old elects to leave. Anderson, who has watched Murillo across his 100 appearances for Forest, recalled asking Ryan Yates who the best player was and being told "Murillo, straight away." He added: "He is a really good player.
He will be sadly missed if he does go... He has got some left foot, those diagonal balls," and contrasted the modern centre-half's skill on the ball with the old-school defenders he played alongside.
