Namor appears in fourth Avengers: Doomsday teaser
Movieweb reports the fourth teaser for Avengers: Doomsday features Ténoch Huerta returning as Namor, appearing alongside members of The Fantastic Four and characters tied to Black Panther.
The new footage includes Shuri/Black Panther (Letitia Wright), Mbaku (Winston Duke), Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and Namor's cousin Namora (Mabel Cadena). Huerta was among the names confirmed to return in a March 2025 live-stream announcement, and this marks the first MCU appearance or reference to the character since Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The teaser shows Namor in a high black collar with hints of gold, seemingly echoing a costume introduced in Sub-Mariner #1 from June 2007.
The piece notes Namor's long comics history—created in 1939, first appearing in Marvel Comics #1, returning in Fantastic Four #4 in 1962 and often linked to the Fantastic Four, Black Panther and X-Men as Marvel’s "first mutant"—and explains Universal Pictures still owns his solo film rights, limiting Marvel Studios from making a standalone Namor movie without Universal's involvement. Fans are left wondering whether Namor will ally with the heroes or be manipulated by Doctor Doom; Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026, and is directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, with writing credits listed as Stephen McFeely, Michael Waldron, Jack Kirby and Stan Lee.
