Users booting Netflix on old PlayStation 3 devices saw a warning that the app will no longer be available after March 2, 2026, a Reddit post showed. The message directed viewers to Netflix.com/compatibledevices to see a list of supported devices.

The streaming app has been available on PS3 for about 15 years, and the notice reflects Netflix ending support for the two-decade-old console.

When Netflix first arrived on PS3 in 2009, users had to request a special Blu-ray disc to access the service because Xbox held an exclusive digital deal; that agreement expired in 2010. There was also a Netflix disc created for PS2 that was not released in the United States.

The Xbox 360 still technically supports Netflix in 2026, but because the console’s digital store closed in 2024 users must have previously downloaded the app or use workarounds to access it. The PS3 app’s removal follows its use for watching the final season of Stranger Things.
