Netflix’s Intense Horror Series Is the Perfect 6-Part Weekend Binge
Parasyte: The Grey is a six-part Netflix horror series adapted from Hitoshi Iwaaki's Parasyte manga. It offers a distinct take on the body horror subgenre and is one of the few live-action anime adaptations that many viewers will want to check out. The plot follows an alien invasion of parasites that take over humans.
Jeong Su-in (Jeon So-nee), a supermarket clerk working late, survives an attack only to learn a parasite has inhabited her body; she bonds with it and names it "Heidi." Police officer Choi Jun-kyung (Lee Jung-hyun) leads a special task force hunting parasites after one infected her husband, and over the course of the series she and Su-in form an unexpected connection.
Fans of the original Parasyte will recognize the focus on the human–parasite relationship: where Shinichi Izumi used Migi's powers to fight infected humans, Su-in mostly tries to live with Heidi.
