New Year Warhammer Preview 2026 reveals major updates across game systems

Gamesradar reports that Games Workshop used the New Year Warhammer Preview 2026 to reveal wide-ranging updates for Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar and the Horus Heresy. In Warhammer 40K the preview outlined the next campaign, Maelstrom: Lair of the Tyrant, and introduced opposing pirate forces: Chaos Space Marine Red Corsairs led by Huron Blackheart and Aeldari Corsairs in an Eldritch Raiders box fronted by Prince Yriel.

New Aeldari vehicles include a two-for-one Vyper/Starfang vehicle described on the livestream as a "Space Marine-killer" that can grant infantry stealth, alongside Corsair Skyreavers, Corsair Voidreavers, the psyker Kharseth, and a fresh Red Corsair Raiders unit and upgrade kit; Warhammer Community also showed a sneak-peek that suggested Iron Warriors are returning.

Age of Sigmar will see a revamp for the Ossiarch Bonereapers with a new Battletome, ranged Mortek Triaxes, chariots and Mortis Reapers assassins, plus new heroes for Lumineth (a Vanari Lord Regent) and Tzeentch (the Argent Shards terrain set and the Fatemaster). In the Horus Heresy line the Custodes are getting new plastic sculpts in a Legio Custodes Battle Group with Custodian Guard, Custodian Sentinels, a Caladius Annihilator grav-tank, a filigreed Custodes Dreadnought and a Shield Captain, with winged Venatari also slated for 2026.
