Nexus Mods drops multiplatform app to focus on Windows-only Vortex
Pcgamer reports that Nexus Mods has cancelled plans for its multiplatform Nexus Mods App and will instead concentrate development on Vortex, its Windows-only mod manager.
Vortex first entered alpha in 2018 and is now fully released. Nexus announced the change on its site last week (via GamingOnLinux), saying it had stopped making sense—"if indeed it ever did"—to divide development efforts between two separate mod managers that aimed to do the same thing.
The article's author wrote they hoped Nexus would integrate learnings from the Nexus Mods App into Vortex and possibly bring that app to other operating systems later; the author also said that if that does not happen they will continue finding other ways to run Mod Organizer 2.
