Nina Russell and Mainak Ghosh reconnected more than a decade later
Anna Sankey Russell and Mainak Ghosh first met in the fall of 2012 at St. Anthony Hall, a literary society at Yale. Mr. Ghosh remembers telling Ms. Russell he was tone deaf and singing “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” to prove it; she replied, “Wow, you’re really bad.” They stayed casual friends through college and then drifted apart after he graduated a year before she did.
Over the next decade they crossed paths at weddings and alumni events, reconnecting more fully in November 2023 at a dinner in Long Island City. After the meal they walked across an unlit Pulaski Bridge, trading memories and catching up on their lives. Ms. Russell, 33, is a Ph.D.
student in jurisprudence and social policy at the University of California, Berkeley; Mr. Ghosh, 34, is head of product at Ironlight and holds an M.B.A. from M.I.T.
