Koei Tecmo announced that Nioh 3 has surpassed one million units sold worldwide, making it the fastest-selling entry in the series' history.

Its predecessor, Nioh 2, took more than a year to reach two million sales across all platforms, a pace slowed by a delayed PC launch. Nioh 3 is still a six-month PS5 console exclusive and has not appeared on Xbox, yet it immediately toppled the franchise's previous Steam peak — held by Nioh 2's Complete Edition — and reached over 88,000 concurrent players on Steam during the launch weekend.

Koei Tecmo also revealed that the series as a whole has now sold over 10 million copies globally. Backed by a generous demo and strong reviews, the author expressed hope for another sequel that further explores Team Ninja's pseudo-historical world and requested more varied background music during play.
