No Rest for the Wicked will jump from $40 to $60 at 1.0, Moon studio head says
No Rest for the Wicked, the action RPG from Moon Studios, will move from $40 to $60 when it reaches version 1.0 and leaves Steam Early Access, studio head Thomas Mahler reiterated on Thursday. The game is currently on a one-time 40% off sale. Mahler told fans on X/Twitter he wasn’t trying to create FOMO but stressed the studio has long announced the plan: "when we hit 1.0, No Rest for the Wicked will move to $60, because it's a premium title." He added the reminder so "nobody's surprised or upset later," and suggested the current sale is a good time to jump in.
The move echoes a different approach taken by Larian with Baldur’s Gate 3, which launched into Early Access at $60. Larian publishing head Michael Douse told PC Gamer that price reflected a larger team and higher production values, and argued the value of a $60 Early Access purchase "exponentially increases year on year." Moon says it chose a more traditional pricing arc: a lower Early Access price to reward early adopters and gather feedback, then a rise when the game is more polished and content-complete.
The game’s Early Access blurb states: "We will be raising the price of No Rest for the Wicked for the launch of the 1.0 version.
