North Carolina woman wins $100,000 on new Stacks of Cash scratch-off
According to People, Yolanda Black of Charlotte won a $100,000 prize from the North Carolina Lottery’s new Stacks of Cash scratch-off game shortly after becoming a homeowner.
Black bought a $20 ticket at Cigarettes & More on Pineville‑Matthews Road in Pineville and told lottery officials in a Jan. 13 news release, "Someone told me, 'New home, new money,' " before adding, "I jumped for joy, then I told my husband." She plans to use the winnings to furnish her new house, the North Carolina Lottery said; she took home $72,016 after tax withholdings.
Black was the first big winner of the Stacks of Cash game, which debuted in 2026. The North Carolina Lottery said five more $100,000 prizes and three $2 million prizes remain to be claimed.
