North West goes all in on hand piercings despite backlash
North West has posted an Instagram Story image showing multiple new piercings on both hands and at least one wrist, responding to weeks of criticism over earlier dermal piercings. In addition to the original two on her left hand, the 12-year-old appears to have added three spikes and three balls to that hand, two spikes and two balls to her right hand, and what looks like a flat piercing on the outside of her left wrist.
In the photo she held her hands in front of her face and wrote βπͺ‘πβπ½β on the image. It remains unclear whether the adornments are real or faux; the original finger piercings appear irritated in the new pictures. Criticism began after a finger piercing was spotted while the family was vacationing in Rome last summer, with concerns about the risks of dermal piercings on frequently used extremities.
West has been photographed both with and without them, which has added to questions about their authenticity.
