Nottingham Forest cruised into the Europa League playoffs with a 4-0 victory over Ferencvaros at the City Ground on 29 January 2026, Igor Jesus scoring twice and James McAtee adding a penalty to complete the scoring. The win, under Sean Dyche, ended Ferencvaros’s unbeaten run in the competition and condemned Robbie Keane’s side to a 4-0 defeat, while also following a week in which Forest had been booed off by many supporters after the trip to Braga.

Forest’s opening goal came when Ryan Yates won the ball, combined with McAtee and delivered a cross that resulted in an own goal by Bence Otvos. Jesus then added a second, his fifth in the competition, the striker’s shot finding the far corner after a slight deflection off Ibrahim Cissé.

In the second half Ibrahim Sangaré’s pass set up Jesus’s third after the ball bounced on the edge of the box and the striker reacted quickly to fire home. McAtee’s penalty completed the 4-0 scoreline as Forest dominated for long spells, with Ferencvaros offering only occasional moments of threat such as Bamidele Yusuf’s header against the crossbar.

The match featured several changes and substitutes: Keane introduced Lenny Joseph at half-time and Forest brought on Morgan Gibbs-White, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ola Aina in the second half; suspended Elliot Anderson did not play.
