Oded Fehr Dismisses 'The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor'
Oded Fehr has downplayed the significance of The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor while discussing a possible return to the franchise. Fehr, who played Ardeth Bay in the 1999 and 2001 films, was not invited back for the 2008 sequel when the action moved continents.
That threequel holds a 13% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Asked about rejoining Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, Fehr said he has "heard many things from a lot of people" and, despite not receiving an official approach from Universal, is "assuming it's going to happen and I'm probably as excited as you are about it." He added that there would be a "big responsibility to try and make a movie that the fans will love as much as the first two, which are the only ones that are important, really," and called the original film a career-making experience.
Since The Mummy Returns, Fehr has built a steady television and voice-acting career.
