Official Switch 2 256GB microSD Express card back in stock
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is headed to the Nintendo Switch 2 and needs 102GB of storage to install. The official Switch 2 microSD Express card — a 256GB Samsung model with a Super Mario design — is back in stock at Amazon for $59, after frequently bouncing on and off shelves.
The Switch 2 includes 256GB of internal storage, but some of that is used for system files. If you have no other games installed you could rely on the built-in space, but an extra card gives you more freedom to download multiple titles and accommodate large updates.
You’re not limited to the Samsung option; there are many compatible microSD Express cards available, though higher capacities come with higher prices. For example, the Lexar 512GB Play PRO is listed at $94.99 on Amazon, while a 128GB Gigastone card is $49.99, which may leave little room for future patches.
Including the $49.99 cost of the game, buying additional storage can add noticeably to the total outlay, so consider capacity needs before you choose a card.
