Cooking roguelike Omelet You Cook has moved its full 1.0 release forward to February to avoid overlapping with Slay the Spire 2’s planned March launch, creator Dan Schumacher told GamesRadar+. The game will leave Early Access and go 1.0 on Steam on February 8. Schumacher said the team had originally assumed Slay the Spire 2 wouldn’t be an immediate concern because it was set for late 2025, but they missed a delay announcement and a new March release.

“There was no way we could release at the same time as an absolute juggernaut in our own genre,” he said, noting streamers and roguelike fans would likely focus on the bigger title. The developers also adjusted their Steam plans, securing a Steam Daily Deal slot that fit their timeline.

Schumacher said the slot “gave us plenty of time to finish and playtest what we wanted for 1.0 without stressing” and fell between major Steam events and sales. February still has its own crowding, including Steam Next Fest and Mewgenics’ launch, but Schumacher and co-developer Hjalte Tagmose finalized music and localization in time.

Schumacher described the final push as saying “No” to friends and working seven days a week for a month to hit the new date.
