First 155 chapters of One Piece free to read until April 10
Viz Media and Shonen Jump are offering the first 155 chapters of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece free on the Shonen Jump app until April 10 to coincide with the release of Netflix’s One Piece season 2. The manga has more than 1,150 chapters, so 155 chapters represent about one tenth of the story—enough to sample the Straw Hat Pirates’ early adventures.
These chapters cover the material adapted in the first two seasons of the live-action series, following the crew through the East Blue and into the Grand Line up to their arrival in the Alabasta Kingdom and the clash with the organization Baroque Works. The Alabasta Arc will be adapted in season 3, so Netflix viewers shouldn’t encounter spoilers.
One Piece’s size can make it intimidating for new readers, but the Netflix show has helped bring newcomers to the franchise even as it takes liberties with the source material.
