Original Ocean's cast, including Clooney and Pitt, set for Ocean's Fourteen
Movieweb reports George Clooney is officially returning as Danny Ocean in Ocean's Fourteen, with Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Julia Roberts also set to reprise their roles alongside Don Cheadle and reportedly Casey Affleck.
Steven Soderbergh is not returning to direct; David Leitch is now set to helm the project. A script was said to have been completed in 2023 and Warner Bros. reportedly approved a budget in 2025. Warner Bros. also has a separate prequel spin-off titled Oceans in development, set in the 1960s and currently linked to Margot Robbie, with reporting that Bradley Cooper replaced Ryan Gosling in October 2025.
Only one major plot point has been revealed: the team will attempt a heist while older, with Clooney saying they "lost a step" but can still find ways around their limitations. Clooney has also said the budget was secured and production would begin in about "nine or ten months," which, if true, would put cameras rolling in July or August 2026 and make a 2027 release likely. It remains unclear which original supporting cast members will return and how, if at all, the film will address Danny Ocean's apparent death as presented in Ocean's 8; Bernie Mac and Carl Reiner, two original cast members, will not return due to their deaths in 2008 and 2020, respectively.
