Collider spoke with O’Shea Jackson Jr. at the Sundance Film Festival, where he provided new details about Den of Thieves 3 and said he has not been told a specific production date.

Jackson said he has been on a fitness journey since the second film and teased that his character Donnie will be “unrecognizable,” joking, “it’s really like 52/54, but 60 sounds better in interviews, so we're down 60 pounds. In June, hopefully I’ll be down 100, and then I'ma just bulk up and get my R&B body.” He also said the movie “won't be set in America or Europe,” adding, “I can't be in the States because of what happened in L.A. Now, I can't be in Europe. So, we're running out of spots,” and said finding a safe filming location is “all Christian Gudegast.”

Jackson said he wants to put Donnie in “real danger,” and after a jokey exchange about a working title, he acknowledged the project is moving forward: “It's going to happen, though.” Beyond his physical prep and the location search, firm production dates and exact shooting locations remain unresolved.
