Out of Action lands in early access with deep combat and a real server browser
Out of Action, the debut multiplayer FPS from solo dev Doku Games, landed in early access last week and already features 12-player lobbies, a real server browser with dedicated servers, deep loadout customization, a simple leaderboard, and two objective modes, PC Gamer staff writer Morgan Park reports.
The game is priced at $20 and has zero microtransactions, but is very much a work in progress: basic features like weapon reload animations and non-test maps are currently on the roadmap. Out of Action’s hook is a wild movement set—dodge, dive, dive roll, slide, wallrun, and double jump—though the game notably lacks sprint.
There’s also a bullet-time ability that only slows targets within the user’s line of sight, and unlockable "shells" that grant abilities such as active camo or a jetpack. Guns are unforgiving: hitboxes are small, bullets have travel time (or possibly low server tickrates, the author notes), and there’s zero aim assist.
The time-to-kill sits between Halo and Call of Duty, with the chance to recover shields and health if you break away from a fight. PvP servers are described as a baptism of fire, but the community has been helpful—players warned the reviewer that direct hits cause bleeding that must be patched with the stim.
