Overwatch cinematic may have killed Doomfist
Kotaku reported that Blizzard’s new animated cinematic kicking off “The Reign of Talon” shows Vendetta taking the top of Talon and appears to send Doomfist tumbling into an abyss after cutting off the cybernetic arm he uses to propel himself, suggesting he may be dead.
When asked about Doomfist’s fate, Overwatch narrative lead Miranda Moyer declined to give a definitive answer, saying Doomfist is a very interesting character and that the team could not say what happened to him, noting Vendetta’s attack was not great and advising fans to stay tuned.
Blizzard says the fallout will be reflected largely in the game, with visible consequences for players through new story content, lore drops in the main menu, and changes to maps and in-match dialogue as Season 1 of the restructured storytelling approach launches on February 10.
