Coverage from Polygon notes that Overwatch will add 10 new heroes in 2026, with five launching simultaneously on Feb. 10 as part of season 1. Blizzard is also dropping the "2" from the game's title as it plans for the next decade. The five heroes form an entire team: tank Domina (Talon-aligned); damage heroes Anran (Overwatch-aligned) and Emre (Talon-aligned); and support heroes Jetpack Cat (Overwatch-aligned) and Mizuki (Talon-aligned).

Players can try an Anran playtest in-game from Feb. 5–10. Polygon says the simultaneous drop outdoes the Overwatch 2 launch and departs from Blizzard’s usual cadence of one hero every other nine-week season. Game director Aaron Keller told Polygon the team began planning the 2026 releases over a year ago and wanted the update to feel "something like an expansion," while maintaining the same time, attention, detail, polish, play testing, and iteration for each hero.
