Overwatch Players Switch Sides For Jetpack Cat Cosmetics

Loyalty can change quickly: Overwatch’s current season pits players against one another over six weeks, with fans choosing either the peacekeeping Overwatch team or the terrorist organization Talon. Talon held an early lead as players defected for laughs and lootboxes, but when rewards refreshed in week two many flipped allegiance to Overwatch to claim Jetpack Cat cosmetics.

Overwatch now holds the lead, with 59.42 percent of players siding with Winston, Sojourn and the other good guys, while Vendetta’s new reign as head of Talon draws 40.58 percent. This week’s rewards include two profile pictures, a voice line and a profile banner, all featuring the cat at Watchpoint: Gibraltar.

The cosmetic drop accompanies an audio drama in which Brigitte recalls meeting Fika and explores design ideas to get her feline companion into the air, reflecting the season’s heavier integration of narrative and in-game rewards. If future seasons keep this Splatfest-esque battle going, players will likely hop between sides to unlock cosmetics.
