Overwatch Spotlight: Big reveals from Blizzard's showcase

Blizzard used its Overwatch Spotlight to outline major updates for 2026, including dropping the "2" from the game's title as it enters its tenth year and adding 10 new heroes. A new cinematic introduces Vendetta and kicks off The Reign of Talon, a six-story arc told across six seasons.

In-game, a five-week faction war called Conquest will let players align with Overwatch or Talon and will reward players with dozens of loot boxes and cosmetics, including one of two faction-themed Legendary Echo skins. Five new heroes drop on Feb. 10 — Domina (Tank), Anran (Damage), Emre (Damage), Jetpack Cat (Support), and Mizuki (Support) — with five more planned for 2026, one per season.

Vendetta is being added to Stadium in season 1. Blizzard is also introducing hero sub-roles (for example Bruiser, Initiator, and Stalwart) that grant sub-role-specific passive abilities to aid balancing and design.
