Paparazzi moving from Craig’s as stars favor Alba Los Angeles, photog says

West Hollywood eatery Craig’s — once widely seen as the place in L.A. to spot celebrities — is seeing paparazzi interest wane as stars gravitate to a new nearby spot, a veteran photographer told Page Six on Tuesday: “The paparazzi are moving away from Craig’s.” The restaurant, famous for both its celebrity clientele and its Honey Truffle Chicken, has spawned nostalgia posts of 2016 Instagram photos as a reminder of its former buzzy status when paps camped outside for names like Kim Kardashian and George Clooney.

“The restaurant was — and is still — a celebrity hot spot,” the photog added, but noted shifts in behavior: “But most stars are using the back entrance, making it hard for photographers to get photos, and the ones that use the front door are not high on the celeb food chain.” Outlets are reportedly paying well only for images of certain bankable stars such as Sabrina Carpenter, Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner.

The paps, the source said, “are now waiting mostly outside at Alba Los Angeles,” the Melrose outpost of NYC’s Cucina Alba. The photog named Bieber, Lauren Sanchez and Sydney Sweeney among regulars at Alba and added: “It used to be that you could hang outside Craig’s all day… now you could be out there and making no money.

You’re not going to make money off a photo of Heather McDonald.” Owner Craig Susser did not respond to requests for comment.
